Blackwell Systems LLC builds and runs websites and business systems for local service businesses. This page explains what we collect when you use our website or talk to us, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What we collect
When you fill out a form on this site, book a call, email us, or call us, we collect what you give us: typically your name, business name, email address, phone number, and whatever you tell us about what you need. If you call and we miss it, we record the number that called so we can get back to you.
Our website does not use advertising trackers. It may set the minimal cookies needed for the site to function and for us to understand, in aggregate, how pages are used.
How we use it
- To respond to your inquiry, by phone, email, or text.
- To schedule and confirm calls and appointments.
- To set up, deliver, and support your account if you become a customer.
- To send service messages about your account, such as confirmations, reminders, and notices.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Text messaging and your mobile information. If you give us your mobile number and check the consent box on one of our forms, or if you call us and we reply by text, you agree to receive text messages from Blackwell Systems about your inquiry, your build and your account. Some of these are sent automatically by an automated dialing system. Expect up to 8 messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything from us. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
You can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by emailing or calling us at the contact details on this site. You do not have to use STOP. Reply HELP for help, or email austin@blackwellsystems.co.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share your mobile phone number, your text message opt-in, or your consent record with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing or promotional purposes, and we never provide that information to lead generators. We share your number only with service providers who work on our behalf to send and receive our own messages, and only so they can do that work for us.
Who else sees it
We use established service providers to host our website, handle email and phone communications, and run the systems we build for customers. They process information only on our behalf and only to provide those services. Phone numbers collected through this site are used solely to respond to your inquiry and are never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
We will disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our business and the people we work with.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry details for as long as it takes to respond and follow up, and we keep customer account records for the life of the account plus the period our accounting and legal obligations require. Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you.
One record outlives the rest on purpose. We keep the record of who agreed to be texted and who asked to stop, including the date, the number and the exact wording they saw, for five years after the last message we sent that number. Deleting that list is how somebody gets texted after they said stop. It is kept for that reason and used for nothing else.
How we protect it
Information moves between you, this site and the systems we run over encrypted connections. Access to inquiry details, customer records and the consent record is limited to the people at Blackwell who need them to do the work, behind individual logins. The providers that host our website, email and phone systems maintain their own security programs and process the data only on our instructions. No method of transmission or storage is perfect; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your choices
- Stop the texts at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by emailing or calling us. STOP is not the only way out.
- Unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in the message.
- Ask us to correct or delete what we hold about you by emailing austin@blackwellsystems.co. We will act on the request unless we are required to keep the record.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Email us to make a request.
Customers' customers
When we build and run systems for a customer, the information their customers submit belongs to that customer. We handle it on their instructions and under their own privacy terms. Questions about how a business you contacted handles your information should go to that business.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
